This was one monster of an itch…
When Alex and his cousin Sarah are visiting their grandparents, Alex gets terrible red, itchy hives. Yikes! He’s allergic to a ghost! Even worse, the ghost won’t leave him alone – he wants Alex and Sarah’s help. Can they solve the ghost’s mystery and get rid of Alex’s awful rash before it ruins everything?
I really enjoyed this one! Alex and his cousin Sarah are very relatable, very likable characters! Also, there are so many kids that are affected by allergies of some sort to some degree, so it’s nice to see a character these kids can relate to.
The story moved along at a nice pace. While reading, you get a good sense of all of the characters, and also the very cool little town that the story takes place in.
This story is full of humor, adventure, and wonderful lessons to reflect on! If you are a fan of the supernatural or a good mystery, give this story a try! I’m already itching for the second in the series, “Vampire Trouble” (Sept 12th, 2017).
This book doesn’t come out until June 27th, so keep an eye out for it!
New from the creator of Captain Underpants, it’s Dog Man, the crime-biting canine who is part dog, part man, and ALL HERO!
George and Harold have created a new hero who digs into deception, claws after crooks, and rolls over robbers. When Greg the police dog and his cop companion are injured on the job, a life-saving surgery changes the course of history, and Dog Man is born. With the head of a dog and the body of a human, this heroic hound has a real nose for justice. But can he resist the call of the wild to answer the call of duty?

BROTHERS ACE AND BUB have the perfect life on Beaver Island. But when a group of evil penguins schemes to convert the island into a polar-themed resort, their entire way of life is threatened. Suddenly Ace and Bub are the only thing standing between their beloved island and an eco-disaster. Do they have what it takes to save the day?
I loved this story! It felt very Canadian! The fun never stops in this one! The humor is sarcastic and quick witted. The story line is fast paced and action packed! And the plot is crazy, unbelievable and so much fun!
I can’t wait to see what Ace and Bub are up to next!
I gave this book a *9/10*

This innovative and wildly funny read-aloud by award-winning humorist/actor B.J. Novak will turn any reader into a comedian.
You might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious. Except . . . here’s how books work. Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud. Even if the words say . . .
BLORK. Or BLUURF.
Even if the words are a preposterous song about eating ants for breakfast, or just a list of astonishingly goofy sounds like BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and GLIBBITY GLOBBITY.
Cleverly irreverent and irresistibly silly, The Book with No Pictures is one that kids will beg to hear again and again. (And parents will be happy to oblige.)
Watching kids while this story is being read to them is one of the greatest experiences ever. One experience that tops that is actually reading this story to kids and being the cause of the laughter! This book is just so much fun! Who would have thought that a book with no pictures in it could be this entertaining?!?
Kids just love the idea that the grownups are being forced into saying these foolish things, and that there is no way out of it…because that is how books work.
I also think that this book without pictures shows kids that the chapter books that are on their way are not as boring or scary as they imagine 😉
I love this book, I love the idea of this book, and I love what this book does to people! Check out the video of the author B.J Novak reading his book to kids, and their infectious reaction!
